Our sweet tea is inspired by traditional winter melon tea.
Winter Melon Tea (冬瓜茶) is a classic Taiwanese beverage with a rich history and distinct flavor. Dating back more than 100 years ago, people discovered that pairing winter melon with brown sugar created a refreshing tea, in addition to its culinary applications.
The preparation starts by slicing the winter melon and cooking it with brown sugar until it transforms into a thick syrup. This syrup is then cooled and cut into small blocks, resulting in convenient and long-lasting winter melon tea bricks. This method not only preserves the winter melon but also produces a popular everyday drink.
Winter melon tea holds a special place in Taiwanese culinary culture, particularly during the summer for its refreshing qualities. Over time, it has spread to neighboring regions and become a cherished product in various markets.
Today, while traditional methods for making Winter Melon Tea are preserved, modern techniques and flavors have been introduced. Variations now include different fruits and ingredients, breathing new life into this age-old drink.
To meet the needs of modern consumers, we have further refined the traditional preserved tea blocks into smaller, more convenient sweet tea cubes.
